ritual + practice

six week courses offered seasonally; in autumn, winter, spring & summer for a small group of practitioners to deepen your yoga & spiritual practice.

Cycling through the seasons

This offering has emerged from my years of practice and facilitating yoga spaces, finding a home in connecting to the cyclical rhythms that exist outside and within us. After years of offering weekly classes, I have decided to bring this cyclical wisdom into my work more directly – a gently unfolding process to spiral into practice together, spiral out into space for integration and regular pauses for rest.

Ritual + Practice comprises of four six week courses, offered in each season of Autumn, Winter, Spring & Summer. Each six week cycle will be framed by the themes of the season, interwoven with the magic that stirs within the group. For me, this is magical work – meeting what arises in the moment through coming together in a shared moment in time, with a shared purpose & intention. A co-created space for inquiry, embodied connection & intuition: a container to build your own daily practice and connect to a community of like minded humans for support & care.

This work spirals in & out of the individual and collective. Exploring what can resources to show up in this harmful & oppressive world with authenticity, courage and love? How can ritual & practice support us to embrace and celebrate our wholeness: the joy, the expansion, the grief, the rage, the silence, the love, the numbness? How can we care for ourselves and one another as a way to resist and dismantle systems of harm that live both within and outside of us?

Dancing between ritual + practice

Structuring words into sentences felt impossible to capture the essence of ritual and practice. The lemniscate immediately flowed from pen to paper when I let myself draw and drop out of ‘making sense’. Eternally interconnected, ritual is practice and practice is ritual. I am sure we will add more words, feelings, images, understandings to this as we meet…

What to expect?

The practices we will explore are predominantly rooted in the traditions of yoga, an opportunity to dive deeper into the vastness of yoga as a daily spiritual and liberatory practice. This will be interwoven with rituals & practices that support us to reconnect to the spiritual nature of these lands, the natural cycles within & outside of us, our guides & ancestors.  In this way, we will come to know rituals & practices that are both formal and informal; those that have moved through lineages for centuries and those which we create in the moment; perhaps practices which are cognitively unknown, but yet deeply known in our bones.

The greatest ritual of this work is the commitment to meet weekly over our time together. To be present with the changing energies of the season as the wheel of the year turns. Below are the kinds of rituals & practices you can expect…

“This was an incredibly welcoming space – from attention to language and the importance of this, a variety of offerings which were so thought through, how each moment  is framed, to an acceptance and honouring of peoples own processes. Appreciated the arc of different themes being threaded into each week in relation to Autumn. Such beautiful attention to detail and level of care – so much effort to ensure everyone is comfortable and needs are attended to.  Leni did such a heartfelt job of this. The final session with the candles and sharing was so touching and a real sense of safety, warmth and heartfelt connection in the group- a sign of an amazing facilitator!”

“Thank you so much for bringing this together. It was so lush sitting and hearing reflections on ritual and connecting with new faces, building memories for Autumn. Beautiful yoga nidras to round off the evening, so so special, especially as the darkness set in further each week. I loved considering ritual in a simpler way, marking a particular moment, occasion, change, seasons. Leni’s facilitating was open, reflective and supportive.”

“Practices felt varied but relevant. Loved having a structure that became familiar but not rigid. Clear, thoughtful teaching. Loved hearing peoples shares. A warm hug. Fresh mugwort tea. Coming back to the nidras in the week. The releasing of the altar each week really nice touch. Loved the group.”

I loved the diversity of offerings! How Leni held the group was gorgeous and I appreciated their thoughtfulness and openess to the group and adapting to needs and desires.”

Sarah she/her, r + p autumn

Absolutely loved it. As always, Leni was excellent at feeling the vibes of the group overall and also on any given day to make the sessions work for what people are arriving with. The group was lovely and I connected with the sharing circles more than I expected to. I particularly loved singing as a group and the final ritual felt lovely and really connecting. Loved the nidras, loved the elements of learning about yoga as a practice and a philosophy, loved the elements of song, tea, altar, grief etc. Can’t say enough nice things about it, it was such a beautiful and supportive space to have in life and in the transition to autumn.”

In between each each six week cycle, there will be the opportunity to join additional seasonal events to celebrate: Samhain, Imbolc, Beltane and Lammas. More information about these will be on my bookings page.

My approach

My offerings are rooted in the values of accessibility and inclusivity. I facilitate from the lens of trauma-informed and anti-oppressive practice.

You can get a sense of my approach to all my offerings by reading my about page and familarising yourself with my group agreements

For this particular offering, there will be an emphasis on intuition, co-creation and diving deeper.

Whilst the intention of these courses is not specifically to educate on topics related to queerness, anti-oppression & decolonisation, this is the lens through which I share my offerings. You do not have to be well versed in these topics to attend, only open & willing to learn.

Who is this for?

These sessions are open to all who read these words and feel a nudge of curiosity and desire.

They are specifically designed with folks in mind who have some experience of yoga or another spiritual or meditative practice as an opportunity to dive deeper.

As a queer trans non-binary facilitator, it is important to me that this space is queer centred. Anyone desiring to attend who does not identify as queer or LGBTQIA+ is whole heartedly welcome, as along as you identify as a respectful and loving ally. Any questions, feel free to get in touch.
