ritual + practice

mondays 6pm – 8pm, the beehive centre
six week courses offered seasonally; in autumn, winter, spring & summer for a small group of practitioners to deepen your yoga & spiritual practice.

Ritual + practice returns for a second cycle!

After a rich year of offering these seasonal courses for the first time, I invite you to cycle with me again. I have learnt so much from each season & each group, and the purpose, rhythm and structure is feeling clearer and more rooted. I am excited to see what this next cycle brings and also offering new ways for you to join for the whole cycle (all four seasons) or half a cycle (two seasons), as well as a single season.

Read on for more information about ritual + practice: what to expect, investment, my approach and testimonials. You can click on each image below for more details about each specific season & booking.

Cycling through the seasons

This offering has emerged from my years of practice and facilitating yoga spaces, finding a home in connecting to the cyclical rhythms that exist outside and within us. After years of offering weekly classes, I have decided to bring this cyclical wisdom into my work more directly – a gently unfolding process to spiral into practice together, spiral out into space for integration and regular pauses for rest.

Ritual + Practice comprises of four six week courses, offered in each season of Autumn, Winter, Spring & Summer. Each six week cycle will be framed by the themes of the season, interwoven with the magic that stirs within the group. For me, this is magical work – meeting what arises in the moment through coming together in a shared moment in time, with a shared purpose & intention. A co-created space for inquiry, embodied connection & intuition: a container to build your own daily practice and connect to a community of like minded humans for support & care.

This work spirals in & out of the individual and collective. Exploring what can resources to show up in this harmful & oppressive world with authenticity, courage and love? How can ritual & practice support us to embrace and celebrate our wholeness: the joy, the expansion, the grief, the rage, the silence, the love, the numbness? How can we care for ourselves and one another as a way to resist and dismantle systems of harm that live both within and outside of us?

Dancing between ritual + practice

Structuring words into sentences felt impossible to capture the essence of ritual and practice. The lemniscate immediately flowed from pen to paper when I let myself draw and drop out of ‘making sense’. Eternally interconnected, ritual is practice and practice is ritual. I am sure we will add more words, feelings, images, understandings to this as we meet…

What to expect?

The practices we will explore are predominantly rooted in the traditions of yoga, an opportunity to dive deeper into the vastness of yoga as a daily spiritual and liberatory practice. This will be interwoven with rituals & practices that support us to reconnect to the spiritual nature of these lands, the natural cycles within & outside of us, our guides & ancestors.  In this way, we will come to know rituals & practices that are both formal and informal; those that have moved through lineages for centuries and those which we create in the moment; perhaps practices which are cognitively unknown, but yet deeply known in our bones.

The greatest ritual of this work is the commitment to meet weekly over our time together. To be present with the changing energies of the season as the wheel of the year turns. Below are the kinds of rituals & practices you can expect…

Each week, this structure will gently hold us…

🌱 framing & opening ritual
🌱 sharing circle – either in the group or pairs, always with options to work solo/share silence
🌱 movement & breath – themed by the season & desires of the group
🌱 yoga nidra – resting meditation to explore the seasonal themes within, sometimes with sound & song
🌱 reflection & closing ritual

And further rituals & practices from the lists below & more will be interwoven as the wisdom of the group & season intuitively guides us.

What have folks said who attended the first years cycle?

“Absolutely loved it. As always, Leni was excellent at feeling the vibes of the group overall and also on any given day to make the sessions work for what people are arriving with. The group was lovely and I connected with the sharing circles more than I expected to. I particularly loved singing as a group and the final ritual felt lovely and really connecting. Loved the nidras, loved the elements of learning about yoga as a practice and a philosophy, loved the elements of song, tea, altar, grief etc. Can’t say enough nice things about it, it was such a beautiful and supportive space to have in life and in the transition to autumn.”

Charlotte, she/her – r + p autumn, winter & spring

“I adored all of it. From the compassionate way you ask us the initial questions to get an idea of our needs and desires, to the playful rigour that you bring to ancient yoga philosophy to the love that you hold. You’re a wizard in my eyes. I like that you always encourage us to do what we want and need and make space for everything with love.”

Lizzie (she/they) – spring

“Loved it! Such a beautifully crafted and facilitated offering – thank you! Was sad to miss one of the sessions, however the sharing via WhatsApp meant I still felt part of it. Accessibility was so well considered and accommodated – this is something you offer that sets you apart from other practitioners.

Sarah (she/they) – autumn & summer

“Leni created a warm and welcoming space for us all to be, feel and connect through sharing, silence, movement, song, chanting, and stillness. Leni held the space and us with respect and gentle consideration, intuitively meeting us where we were.”

Michelle she/her – winter

“This was an incredibly welcoming space – from attention to language and the importance of this, a variety of offerings which were so thought through, how each moment  is framed, to an acceptance and honouring of peoples own processes. Appreciated the arc of different themes being threaded into each week in relation to Autumn. Such beautiful attention to detail and level of care – so much effort to ensure everyone is comfortable and needs are attended to.  Leni did such a heartfelt job of this. The final session with the candles and sharing was so touching and a real sense of safety, warmth and heartfelt connection in the group- a sign of an amazing facilitator!”

anonymous – autumn

“Over the 6 weeks it became a space of calm and reflection that I really looked forward to. It was really nice to have time each week to connect with the seasons, the natural world, a small group of lovely people, and myself. This felt particularly special in December as it helped to not get so swept up in the busy, capitalist intensity that this month can so often bring. And the continuation into the new year was a nice contrast to the pressure for everything to be new in January.”

Jess (she/her) – winter

“Overall my experience was wonderful. I felt the space was really well set up to be comfortable and welcoming from the first week I arrived. The altars were always beautiful and the combination of the practices (which felt so nourishing and fulfilling) and chance to connect in the group and 1:1 were all so welcome and enjoyable I thought the facilitation helped the space to feel very genuine, comfortable and playful/open. I was really happy I booked!”

Rebecca (she/her) – spring

“I felt utterly transported by each yoga nidra and came out of class each week feeling totally renewed. The rhythm of the repeated structure felt familiar and easy very quickly. It felt like a genuinely inclusive space, brilliantly held by Leni with a rich and practical understanding of how to meet people’s individual needs while still fostering a communal experience.”

Beth (she/her) – spring

My approach

My offerings are rooted in the values of accessibility and inclusivity. I facilitate from the lens of trauma-informed and anti-oppressive practice.

You can get a sense of my approach to all my offerings by reading my about page and familarising yourself with my group agreements

For this particular offering, there will be an emphasis on intuition, co-creation and diving deeper.

Whilst the intention of these courses is not specifically to educate on topics related to queerness, anti-oppression & decolonisation, this is the lens through which I share my offerings. You do not have to be well versed in these topics to attend, only open & willing to learn.

Who is this for?

These sessions are open to all who read these words and feel a nudge of curiosity and desire.

They are specifically designed with folks in mind who have some experience of yoga or another spiritual or meditative practice as an opportunity to dive deeper.

As a queer trans non-binary facilitator, it is important to me that this space is queer centred. Anyone desiring to attend who does not identify as queer or LGBTQIA+ is whole heartedly welcome, as along as you identify as a respectful and loving ally. Any questions, feel free to get in touch.
